Staff testimonials

Read What Our Staff Have To Say About Working Here

“It’s so fun to attend community events! Because the community is small, you get to see your clients selling their crafts and artwork, and it feels like it completes the circle. You’re helping your clients to get better and you’re able to see them getting back to what makes them happy. You don’t get to see that in a bigger city.”

A person crouches in a wide, open tundra landscape beside a white bucket, surrounded by low shrubs and vegetation, with rolling hills and a cloudy sky in the distance.

Amelie Mainguy–Deslandes

Physiotherapist

“They (Patients) are so incredibly appreciative of me taking the time the time to listen to their story, asking them about where they came from, and what they like to do back home. Sometimes I help fix their medical problems, and sometimes I can’t. But I’ve been blown away by how accepting patients are of the fact that we try and we are doing our best, and are appreciative whether or not they get better. It is a privilege to care for them.”

Dr. Kajsa Heyes

Family Physician

“What I’ve been able to accomplish in my career here would take me forever if I was living in another province. Every time I’ve reached out to further my education and training, they have been supportive.”

“I’ve had a great career, learning so much and working with fantastic professionals. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in coming up!”

A person stands outdoors in front of a vertical wooden fence, wearing glasses, a dark winter jacket, and a patterned scarf. The setting appears to be an outdoor area in cool weather, with soft natural light and portions of snow visible at the edges of the scene.

June Bartlett

Cancer Nurse Navigator

“In the 5 years I’ve lived in Fort Smith, I’ve had the opportunity to support women in my community through their second or third pregnancy. When I attend community events or go grocery shopping, I often run into my clients and their children, and get to see them grow. That is one of the most rewarding and meaningful parts of being a midwife in a small community. Buy a warm jacket, and embrace it! The people are so welcoming, and you’re going to fall in love with the community, nature, and opportunities.

A wide outdoor landscape shows a powerful, fast‑moving river cascading over rocky ledges, creating whitewater and mist. A single person wearing an orange jacket stands on a dark rock outcrop near the river’s edge. Steep cliffs and forested hills rise in the background, with evergreen trees lining the canyon and dramatic dark clouds overhead.
